master gratitude

“You will notice what you are looking for. Someone who loves flowers notices them even though others would just pass them by. Someone who is looking for things to complain about will notice what he is looking for. And someone who hates litter will see the litter rather than seeing the birds and the flowers. Consider it important to be grateful. Then you will notice more and more kind things that others do for you.”

from Thank You Gratitude: Formulas, stories and insights by Rabbi Zelig Pliskin

Recognise that law of nature, what you look for you see. As I look out this morning do I see the beauty of the plants or the weeding that ‘needs’ to be done. Mastering gratitude should be easy, why do I make it so hard?  A question that needs no answer, why unimportant. How it’s going to be different the key. Start not by looking out but within, be kind and helpful and see where that takes me. Change self not others to begin.

I’m going to have a good day.

Have a good day too.
