He that fights and runs away,
May turn and fight another day;
But he that is in battle slain
Will never rise to fight again.
Tacitus though I don’t know whether his record commends him or otherwise, an internet wander for an idle moment but not today. Today seeking respite from the battle and the choice because the first two lines, a childhood memory, kept repeating in my head. Wisdom is knowing when to fight and when to retire to fight another day. Fatigue management feels much the same, don’t always give up without trying but forced burn out is no path to victory either. Today a day to pause and regroup ready for battle on the morrow. Better yet will be if with the dawn find the enemy was in my head and has vanished, vanquished with no need to fight tomorrow at all.
Have a peaceful day
