read

Books as therapy ? Not just self help variety but novels, biographies , trash. A  place to find lessons and mentors to guide me through life. Why not , both escape and salvation along with cup of tea in a quiet corner. Curling up  with a book one of life’s joys, all the other internal chatter silenced for that time. Few words today, instead a thought to reflect on, as the day beckons. Read a book as therapy. Why not.

Today a ps from the Sunday papers how could I resist a piece that started –

For my entire life words have comforted me. As a young child when I wanted to escape I would read a book. Neither my family….. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-2735545/First-person-red-thread-binds-family.html

let go

Not my words today, words of a stranger but they spoke to me. Here my selection

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means  the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another, it’s to make the most of myself.

To let go is not to deny, but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.

To let go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more

And here the rest

holiday

Time to take a break from daily blog? No not yet but change of pace welcomed. Thoughts today driven by the music.

What good is sitting alone in your room?
Come hear the music play
Life is a cabaret, old chum
Come to the cabaret

Put down the knitting,
the book and the broom.
It’s time for a holiday
Life is a cabaret, old chum
So come to the cabaret

Singalong old chum, come to the cabaret.

give up

1.cease making an effort; admit defeat.
“he wasn’t the kind of man to give up easily

synonyms: admit defeat, concede defeat, stop trying, call it a day, give in, surrender, capitulate, be beaten;

No plans to give up easily, not that kind of man. Today not trying to find reasons to stop trying or call it a day . No google wander found helpful list of reasons not to give up. No surprises but reassuringly familiar. Each one a signpost pointing me in right direction. Where better to start than giving up need to always be right.

be me

Taking my cue from Muzak choice. Be me? What the @#*! does that mean. Is letting go like this the key to unlocking the real me?

Nope, that hurt, felt like hitting a sound wall head on. Know this isn’t me and don’t want it to be. Another step closer to finding myself.

eat well

Google would take you to an eatwell plate but that doesn’t lift my spirits. No today a food lesson from someone who truly understands the simple pleasure of creating something enticing from leftovers. This choice not a favourite just an entree recommend you head to laptop to feast more.

Also, for a main course try his prose too. http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2011/mar/20/nigel-slater-mackerel-black-pudding

be fearless

Not without doubts but to be able to overcome obstacles despite those fears. Dance show as unlikely inspiration for day. Remember trying is not failure , failure is not trying. Only you can change how you feel about your life.
